Midland Bank PLC. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sonic (Bangladesh) Ltd. to provide advanced cash management solutions for efficient financial operations.
The MoU signing ceremony took place on April 29, 2026. Mr. Imtiaz U. Ahmed, Managing Director & CEO of Midland Bank PLC., and Mr. Su Yongbao, Director of Sonic (Bangladesh) Ltd., signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under this agreement, Sonic (Bangladesh) Ltd. will utilize Midland Bank’s modern and secure digital platform, “Midland Cash Management (MCM)”, to enhance its day-to-day banking transactions, fund management, and overall financial operations.
Sonic (Bangladesh) Ltd. is 100% export oriented manufacturer of toy models and engaged in diverse business activities, including manufacturing, trading, and related services, significantly contributing to Bangladesh’s industrial sector.
Among those present from Midland Bank PLC. were Mr. Mohd. Javed Tarek Khan, SEVP & Head of Institutional Banking Division; Mr. Muhammad Majidul Haq Patwary, VP & Unit Head (IBD, Unit-5); and Mr. Khondker Khaled Shams SAVP & Unit Head (IBD, Unit-7).

The 179th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Midland Bank PLC. was held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Bank’s Head Office Board Room in Dhaka.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, Chairman of the Board. Mr. Md. Shamsuzzaman, Vice Chairman; Mr. Rezaul Karim, Chairman of the Executive Committee (EC); Master Abul Kashem, Director; Dr. Mostafizur Rahman, Director; Mr. A.K.M. Badiul Alam, Director; Mr. Mohammed Jamal Ullah, Director and Mr. Riaz Ahmed Choudhury, Independent Director were present in the meeting.
Mr. Imtiaz U. Ahmed, Managing Director & CEO, and Mr. Md. Zahid Hossain, Deputy Managing Director, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Board reviewed and approved various agenda items, including investment proposals and important policy matters of the Bank.
