দেশের বিভিন্ন স্বায়ত্তশাসিত, আধা-স্বায়ত্তশাসিত, এবং সংবিধিবদ্ধ বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের ২ লক্ষ ১২ হাজার ১’শ কোটি টাকা স্থিতি হিসেবে বিভিন্ন ব্যাংকে পরে আছে। এই টাকাগুলো আসলে কোনো ভালো কাজে ইনভেস্ট হচ্ছে না। তাই সরকার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে নতুন আইনের মাধ্যমে কিছু টাকা রেখে বাকি টাকাটা সরকারি কোষাগারে নিয়ে আসা এবং উন্নয়নের কাজে বিনিয়োগ করা।

ইতিমধ্যেই পেট্রোলিয়াম কর্পোরেশন, পেট্রোবাংলা, রাজধানী উন্নয়ন কর্পোরেশন, জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়সহ ৬৮ টি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ে তালিকাভুক্ত করেছে সরকার।

এসব প্রতিষ্ঠানের উদ্বৃত্ত অর্থ সরকারি কোষাগারে জমা প্রদান আইন ২০১৯ এর খসড়ায় অনুমোদন দিয়েছে সরকার।
