ASX Sharemarket Game at YCP-12

Over the past 10 weeks, all students in Year 7 and 8 have been participating in the ASX Sharemarket Game. Noah Runnalls has been extremely successful.

💰💰💰 Noah managed to turn his $50,000 portfolio into $64,662.

🌟🌟🌟This is an incredible profit of $14,662 in a very short period. For his efforts Noah has won $1000 cash. He won $500 for coming second in the game, $400 for being the leading syndicate in Victoria and $100 for winning at our school. Considering there were around 25,000 syndicates participating this is an amazing effort! 🌟🌟🌟

Local business Hargraves Secured Investments Limited has sponsored this competition at our school for many years. We appreciate their support and it certainly ensured student interest was maintained. Noah claimed the first prize within our school of $100. Year 8 students Blair McAllen finished second with a profit of 11,267 and Sonny Sneddon finished third with a profit of $10,988. Blair wins $60 and Sonny $40.

Recently the Australian Sharemarket Schools Game was completed and our College was one of the participants.

WHAT IS THIS GAME?

This game involves students having a hypothetical $50,000 they can invest in the Sharemarket for 10 weeks. There are cash prizes for both national and state winners.

As well as this a local business Hargraves Secured Investments Limited sponsors some cash prizes for the winner of our school’s Year 7/8 cohort. Their ongoing support over the past few years is extremely appreciated and provides some added incentive for the students to follow the game closely.

CONGRATULATIONS TO:

This year the winner was Lachie Johnson who finished with $55,043 in his share portfolio mainly on the back of him acquiring Boral Limited Shares early in the piece.

RUNNERS UP was Mikey Pawley with a portfolio of $54,455 and in THIRD PLACE was Lily Cameron with a portfolio of $54,369.
