From 1 July 2026, super is paid every pay cycle instead of quarterly. Payday is now "day 0," with 7 calendar days for the contribution to reach your employee's fund.

Already paying super when you run payroll? You're most of the way there.
The ATO's focus in year one is on employers who aren't making a genuine effort, not those who make honest mistakes and fix them fast.

All withholding schedules and tax tables have been updated. The changes apply from 1 July 2026.

If you employ staff, take note of the changes. Make sure you know how much you need to withhold from the payments you make to your employees and other workers.
