If you are under 18, you will also need to work 30 hours a week to be eligible for super.

🚨 Re: early access to superannuation 🚨

You may have heard of the recent temporary changes that have been made regarding the early access of super. If you're wondering what they mean for you, here's what you need to know:

We first recommend seeking financial advice, if you are able to, before applying for early release of your super. This will help you make an informed choice that takes into account your personal financial situation.

With these changes, those who are eligible can apply online (through myGov) to access up to $10,000 of their super before 1 July 2020. Additionally, they will also be able to apply to access up to a further $10,000 from 1 July 2020 for approximately three months (pending regulations from the proposed legislation).

To apply, complete an application to the ATO via the MyGov website. The ATO will consider your eligibility and issue a determination to you and your super fund. The payment will be processed following the ATO’s approval of your application. Currently, applications can be made from mid-April.

We are not responsible for evaluating your eligibility to receive these early release payments.
