CLEANERS! PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
Are you a cleaning contractor with your own business? Are you adequately insured in case you damage your clients furniture or possessions? Public Liability Insurance is a MUST unless you are in the financial position to pay for the damage to or loss of your clients property due to your negligence.

Say you’re mopping the floor & as you back across the floor the mop handle accidentally smashes the glass of an antique cabinet. Your client is devastated because this item has been in the family for generations & they want it repaired. Legally they can pass these costs on to you & you will be out of pocket if you are not insured. This could be a substantial cost if the antique cannot be repaired & you may have to pay its full replacement value. Having Public Liability Insurance provides cover for third party property damage & bodily injury claims that result due to your negligence whilst providing a service. With the mop example, you are able to lodge the claim under this insurance & all you’ll pay is the excess which can generally be between $250-$500. The cabinet is then repaired or an offer of settlement made to your client if it cannot be repaired.
