The answer is ๐ฌ๐๐ฆ! To be eligible to claim for the payments, you need to ensure the minimum of $1,500 is paid to each eligible employee before the end of each fortnight.
IMPORTANTLY, if you want to claim for the first payments from 30th March, you need to ensure you pay each eligible employee a minimum of $3,000 by the 26th April.
You are then reimbursed by the ATO on a monthly basis (in arrears) for the payments.
We understand that this is causing confusion because the business is already suffering (obviously, hence claiming the JobKeeper), and may not have the cashflow available to continue to make the payments.
When asked to clarify this, the ATO stated that they encourage businesses to talk their bank about short-term funding.
