The SMSF property landscape has shifted.

As of 10 August, Self-Managed Super Funds can no longer take out a new loan to buy residential property.

But it’s not a blanket ban - and the detail matters:

→ Existing loans keep running, and can still be refinanced
→ Business real property borrowing is unaffected
→ Contracts signed before 10 August may still proceed
