A lender isn't obligated to keep their rates the same, and particularly with fixed rates, they are known to move them before any RBA meeting or decision, based on their expectations of what will happen. If a fixed rate is important to you, it's worth considering the cost of a rate lock to ensure you receive the quoted rate at the time or it can be a costly gamble to get from application to settlement without any movement.
