The Oz Mega Committee has been working hard already with the Mayor - Matthew Hatcher, The Eurobodalla Shire Council, Moruya Showground Staff and more locals in Moruya and surrounding areas to bring the greatest Mega Event ever seen on the South Coast.
The GeoBash Tours are famous for their love of an area combined with collecting caches along the way. Tour Leaders have already volunteered their time, expertise and enthusiasm to bring some fantastic adventures. From Mother Nature’s geological masterpieces to wartime bunker historical enlightenment, from delightful country town strolls to distillery tastings to excite the pallet. There is something for everyone. And so much more to come.
You can be close to the action by staying at the Moruya Showgrounds where the Mega will be held – over 200 powered sites are available for your caravan or tenting needs for only $49ea per night. Plenty of bathroom facilities, close to the Moruya Golf Club and an easy walk into the town centre. For those not staying there is still plenty of free parking onsite. There will be food and drink along with all the geocaching staples – Registration Desk, Stallholders, Seminars and of course 20 gadget caches to challenge your brain.

It's only 2 weeks to the publication of the Moruya GeoBash GCBFN90.
Groundspeak granted a rare procedure in awarding the event Mega Status in advance without conducting another Mega event in the preceding 12 months.
The 7 strong Committee and Tours Committee has been working hard for a year and this week had another onsite meeting with Council representatives, event staff,Showground managers and catering staff to streamline all components of a professional event that geocachers have come accustomed to over the years from the Oz Mega Committee. The event site has a staggering 270 powered sites.Many announcements in the near future.

Orders will close at midnight tonight for the early bird Moruya GeoBash shirt orders. Next orders will be 12 months away.They will be here about the 24th February and posted around Australia or dropped off at local events if you live in Canberra or postage in Canberra. The 2027 Moruya GeoBash official shirts in CyanBlue/White are now available with an early bird special price.
Normally,$60,the first orders will be available for $55. All sizes available in unisex sizes with the stunning 5,000 stitch embroidered logo complimented by the striking silver/black Geocaching name.
The first batch of orders will close on Thursday Feb 5th.Orders will arrive about the 26 th Feb for postage around Australia and overseas or local pick up at ACT events.

The Mayor of the Eurobodalla Shire Mathew Hatcher (far left) looks forward to welcoming all geocachers to Moruya and the region in April,2027.
The new shirts will be available to order in mid January and the first orders will arrive here in late February.
Shipping around Australia and beyond will be available.

Introducing SALTY ,the official Mascot for the 2027 Moruya GeoBash.You will see Salty appear a lot now, as the Committee puts in place all the components of the Moruya GeoBash.

Moruya GeoBash
After 9 months of planning and meetings including onsite,The Oz Mega Committee is proud to announce its next Mega Event location,which will be at Moruya on the NSW South Coast. The dates will be Sat 4th April and Sunday 5th of April,2027.
The home base will be the Moruya Showground located right in town.Over 250 powered and non powered sites will be available to stay onsite, in which you can turn into 3 nights camping including the Friday night. We have two large buildings for the Mega.One is the basketball stadium where a rubber matting floor will be placed over the courts and includes great lighting, air con, toilets and a kitchenette.
The themed colours and ribbons will be Hawaiian Blue and White as per photo.
There will be an incredible array of stunning free Geocaching tours to partake in including, cliff top walks, lookout tours, lost Goldmine tours, 4 wheel drive tours,historical locations and many more planned.
The GC page and full website details will be available in April, 2026.We have catering organised onsite.Themed shirts will be available including an early bird special in the very near future.Put this in your diary as a weekend not be be missed.Eurobodalla Shire Council is fully behind the big weekend planned and looks forward to everyone's attendance, as does the Committee.

The day before the big one tomorrow with the first Block Party in the Southern Hemisphere coming up Sunday .900 plus people expected .
Great set up day today and over 300 people at the dinner tonight at the Silverwater Hotel . Garmin prize winner was Bruce from Calypso62 and a popular 🏆 winner !
