Huge Congratulations to team Karradale Merino! Awarded 3rd in the coveted State Ewe Hogget Competition at Newdegate Machinery Field Days today. A great effort for our modern merinos thank-you to the efforts of Hill Padua Polls MPM - judged today on Wool & Structure they looked great with so much more under the hood with regard to carcase and fertility. Thank you to the organisers Bryce Sinclair and Sponsors of our Award West Coast Wool and of course team Karradale - who made it possible.

Busy week at Karradale classing the Ewe Hoggets. We are really happy with our MPM Merino enterprise and the direction it’s tracking. If anyone is looking for replacement breeders reach out as we have some fabulous White Tags available this year in September.

The next generation of premium Merino wool has landed.

Thank you to our Karradale Team for the thoughtful care given to our ewes from pregnancy and throughout lambing.

Each year, lamb marking is an essential step toward raising healthy sheep. It is also a responsibility we take seriously. This brief intervention provides each lamb with essential vaccinations and treatments and is supported by a multimodal pain relief strategy, combined with calm, low-stress handling techniques.

We continually refine our practices and look for practical ways to improve how we work.

This season, that commitment is reflected in a simple but meaningful innovation by Coorumbene Contracting who built a landing ramp for lambs once they have finished their treatments. Huge thanks to Sam William Morris Trimming and his family and staff for travelling out to help.

Every season brings another opportunity to do things better than the last.

With that in mind, we’re proud to welcome the 2026 Merino Edition giving them the best possible start to life at Karradale.

From first light to final bale. 🐑

Shearing is more than wool harvest - it’s animal care, pasture improvement, soil improvement, genetics( Hill Padua Polls MPM ), preparation, and years of breeding for quality.

This season’s clip featured:
• Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) accredited wool (ceased mulesing)
• Approximately 89% fleece wool preparation
• Low vegetable matter (VM)
• High yielding fleece
• Excellent staple strength (55-71nkt💪)
• Solid staple length from a 6-month summer/autumn shear

Our 6-month shearing program aims to produce a bright, soft, exceptionally strong & highly consistent clip perfect for high performance processing 🧥

A huge thank you to the team at Shear Craft Shearing “making shearing an art form.”
The professionalism, care, and pride they bring to the shed makes all the difference.

Also grateful to Mallawillup Livestock Services for helping us manage the workload throughout shearing season.

Proud of the people, the dogs, the sheep, and the result.
From the paddock to the wool pack - every detail matters.
