One of our last posts for the year and no better to share our valued customer Jo’s VX SS Commodore that we completed a full build on.

Jo came to us last year with his vx and a tired old ls1. He wanted more than 300rwkw reliably but with room to grow in the future.

We set him up with:

✅️A Kanaris Engines Built 652hp 402 Street Stroker featuring a fully forged bottom end and all the fruit inc all ARP hardware, Kanaris Ported Cylinder heads , Hydraulic Street Roller NA+S/C Camshaft, Pump 98 Compression and setup with an Edelbrock Victor Jr Intake.
✅️A Promatic Transmissions & Performance Trans Components. Built 1000hp Full Manualised 4L80 Transmission
✅️ Dominator Torque Converters 4800 converter
✅️Dual Pass Transcooler and Fan Combo with Braided Lines

We had Alex's VE SS in for a head and cam package for his 6L L98 with factory converter

This package features:

We had Ash's VZ ute back in for some upgrades!

Featuring one of our Alloytec Cam packages Ash decided to go for the lot including:

✅️ Mace 210 @0.050 camshafts
✅️ Premium French INA timing chain kits with gears

We wrapped it up with a full custom dyno tune to the beat of 192rwkw picking up pretty much 40rwkw with just manifold and camshaft with an airbox and good k&n filter just the small exhaust holding it back!

After a long non plug and play route we finally have come to a great result with Justin's blown vz alloytec ute!

Coming in broken with a number of issues including mixing oil in the water, broken ringlands, blower that was filled with mostly metal instead of oil 😅 and a number of other issues , after consulting with justin it wasn't just a basic head gasket fix.. our aim was to build a street friendly 300rwkw on low boost up from the 211rwkw it had achieved with the supercharger before.

To do this we needed a good base .. we had confidence in the factory bottom end including a factory piston, rod, rodbolt, crank and mains hardware with some tweaks. Special Thanks to Kanaris Engines for the continuous quality machine work.

We then elected to step up the camshaft and cylinder head combination from factory including:

✅️ Mace Engineering Group 210 cams
✅️ All new genuine factory rocker and lifter gear
✅️ Performance Springs 95 lbs valve springs
✅️ Ported CPR6 and lower manifold to suit the stage 2 boosted ported cylinder head setup by
Kyri Race Heads
✅️ Factory Recoed Valves
✅️ Custom ARP head studs to suit the alloytec
✅️ Factory style Mahle MLS head gaskets

Our goal here was to make the engine as efficient as possible with accesible parts as we were only targeting low boost so we didn't have to dumb the engine down for something like 20+ psi of boost including retaining the factory comp ratio of 10.2:1.
From there the engine combination was complete..

We future proofed the whole car for 300rwkw boosted including

✅️ 1150cc bosch injectors
✅️ 460lph drop in fuel pump
✅️ turbosmart fpr6 with 6an feed and return lines and aeroflow hardware
✅️Pana Custom Catch Can Kit
✅️Fenix VZ alloy radiator with front thermostat conversion kit
✅️Hurricane extractors and hi flow cats with an X force twin 2.5" catback

Then the more challenging part , making a haltech elite 2500 communicate with the factory dash and canbus system. So George... at Pro Flow Fab & Dyno was the man to make this work.

Featuring :
✅️ A haltech elite 2500
✅️ Full custom wiring loom
✅️ All sensors including VVT, knock, flex and fuel pressure were all functional
✅️Initial setup and calibration

Big thanks to George for not only taking this on but offering continuous support for this platform!

We ran this up N/A after dialing in the VVT system we managed to make more N/A than when it was boosted running up at 216rwkw which was great as our plan was working meaning at this point it should easily make 300rwkw. At this point we sent justin off to do some break in kms on the engine and when we got it back we fitted up:

✅️ The reconditioned vortech v2 blower with new bearings and seals
✅️ Made up all the intercooler piping with a turbosmart blow off valve and aeroflow 600 x 300 x 76mm intercooler
✅️ Made up a Custom overflow bottle with 2L storage
✅️ Fitted an m80 diff with trutrac and 3.9s

On 98 we ran this up and it made 313rwkw on 10 psi.
We then drained as much fuel out of it as we could and filled it up with ethanol coming in with a 60% ethanol content we managed to crack 327rwkw by 7000rpm on 10 psi of boost. Again we know this will make more with more rpm, timing and ethanol content but we are already making an extra 27rwkw over our goal!

We initially had Nick's vz ute in for our premium timing chain package.

Upon receiving the vehicle we noticed a lot of oil in the water and overflow bottle. Having seen this before we recommended removing the heads after ticking off the basics like trans fluid cross contamination

It was then elected to go for one of our alloytec head and cam packages with extras featuring:

✅️ Mace 210 cams
✅️ Genuine Rockers and lifters
✅️ Reco and Stage 1 Ported Heads , lower manifold and plenum by Kanaris Engines
✅️ Premium French INA timing chain kit and idler gears
✅️ Premium Mace Oil Pump
✅️ Genuine Mahle Gaskets
✅️ Restored Covers and hardware
✅️ Mace 12mm spacers
✅️ Cleaned and flowed his Injectors and installed a new fuel filter
✅️Mace Cold air intake
✅️Powerbond Underdrive Kit and Dayco Tensioner
✅️Autolite Plugs
✅️ All new hoses , thermostat and hardware
✅️ Pana Performance Catch Can kit
✅️ Fan Controller
✅️ Martini Racing 10w60 Premium ester oil

We then gave it a full custom dyno tune to the beat of 181rwkw through a restrictive twin 2.25" exhaust system, 4l60e and 3.08 diff gears, picking up just shy of 50rwkw !

We had Marc's beautiful VF SS in with LSA running gear.

The SBE LSA features CNC heads, small camshaft and a couple of hardware upgrades.

On BP98 and 10psi we conservatively tuned it to the beat of 425rwkw and 912RWNM.

Suffering from consistent belt slip we decided to leave it where it was as ultimately the pulley setup is capable of another 4+ psi..

Stay tuned for when we try crack 500rwkw from this unit!

Couple of LS's in for tunes at Pana Performance

Starting off with Jakobs we fitted:
✅️New NGK racing plugs
✅️Fresh Martini Racing 10w60 oil and filter
✅️VCM mafless otr kit
✅️ Xforce 1 3/4 header and cat kit

We then tuned it to the beat of 257rwkw and 520rwnm picking up over 60rwkw and almost 100rwnm of torque!

We also had Michaels VZ SS in for:
✅️New NGK Racing plugs
✅️New Premier Ignition leads
✅️Pana Performance Custom Catch Can Kit
✅️Powerbond underdrive balancer

We then gave it a full custom edit wrapping up at 240rwkw with a peak increase of 21rwkw and holding instead of falling over up top.

We had the pleasure on working on John's beautiful Kanaris built big block 68 corvette!

It came to us for a full custom 3" mandrel bent 409 S/S system with growl mufflers, two resonators and an X pipe to let that 427 big block breathe!

This was a well needed update from the outdated press bent 2 1/4" flowmaster era system...

While we were there we tidied up a bit of his starter wiring as well as fit a new CVR Starter.

We had Dylan's super clean VZ Alloytec ute back in for a ported CPR6 intake manifold .

To note Dylan's VZ sports one of our alloytec Cam packages with

✅️Mace 210 cams
✅️INA timing chain kit and YSK oil pump
✅️GM lifters and Rockers
✅️Pana Performance Catch can kit

Through a modded airbox , 2.25" pacemaker headers this managed to crack just shy of 200rwkw finishing up at 196rwkw and 506rwnm picking up over 20rwkw with just manifold alone. We generally see 30+rwkw with a good intake and bigger 2.5" headers.

✅️ Fresh Set of high flow cats to replace factory ones
✅️ ECU unlock
✅️ Full custom mafless dyno tune to suit his new mafless OTR Intake.

This freakshow is the most powerful bolt on LS1 we have tuned winding up at 255rwkw and through a 4l60e as well. We might have to thank GM for the core shift in the heads on this unicorn 😉

We originally had Theo's VT SS in for a basic cam package but he elected to go with the hamburger with the lot!

✅️Starting from the bottom we have a blueprinted standard ls1 bottom end by Kanaris Engines
✅️Up top with have some banger CNC ported heads by Kyri Race Heads with pac double valve springs to suit
✅️From there we banged in a custom ground cam specced to suit heads by kyri race heads in conjunction with ourselves to suit both the heads and the customers needs, LS7 lifters, genuine buckets, crow pushrods , IWIS chain kit and mellings oil pump.
✅️We also upgraded to a crow trunion kit for the proven ls1 rockers

Besides recoing the motor we also
✅️Installed bigger injectors
✅️Installed bigger 4 into 1 X force headers and cats
✅️Installed a Dominator Torque Converters 4800 converter
✅️Upgraded his transmission and power steering coolers
✅️Freshened up his engine bay and his cooling system with all new hardware.

We then broke the engine in with numerous heat cycles and finally ran it up on the rollers to the beat of 297rwkw maxxing out the roller speed with his 3.07:1 diff gears 😅 , yes we are putting 4.11s in this

To note this has a standard ls1 intake and throttle and a 2.5" catback. We'd expect to see over 315wkw with a better intake and 3" exhaust.
