Our Southern Women Connect luncheon was everything we hoped it would be with laughter, meaningful conversations, inspiring stories and wonderful connections.
This video captures the essence of the day perfectly. A beautiful reminder of the power of women coming together, supporting one another and taking time to nurture themselves.

Thank you to everyone who made the day so special.

Stories like this remind us why supporting our wildlife matters. Our partnership with Currumbin Wildlife Hospital , $250,000 commitment to the Currumbin Wildlife Institute and a total investment of $100,000 in the last few years and into the future for fuel for the wildlife ambulance will help protect our precious wildlife when they need it most.

🌿Meet the adorable Mum & Bub duo - Clarabel & Thomas. 🐨

Clarabel, 8, and her six-month-old Joey Thomas were recently rushed to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a train in Ormeau.

Clarabel had suffered a haemabdomen, skull fracture and head trauma, while Thomas sustained a pelvis fracture and head trauma, sparking weeks of round-the-clock care in the hospital's intensive care unit.

After stabilizing in ICU, mum and joey were transferred to koala rehab, building up strength and confidence before their release back into the wild at Ormeau.

This Save the Koala Month (and Save the Koala Day on the 25th of September) we’re encouraging everyone to donate to the Tree to Me program.

With around 400 Koalas admitted every year, the demand for fresh, nutritious eucalyptus leaves is enormous.

Gum cutters and vet nurses go to great lengths to select several types of gum every day to keep the Hospital patients happy.

Please save Koalas by donating today at currumbinwildlifehospital.org.au

What a wonderful afternoon of connection, inspiration and nurturing at our Southern Women Connect Luncheon on Friday.

This year’s event focused on nurturing women, reconnecting with ourselves and recognising the importance of taking time out in our busy lives.

More than 150 guests joined us at Waterside Events at Currumbin RSL and enjoyed a delicious lunch, an inspirational keynote from Angela Lee Jenkins, who openly shared her personal journey and the importance of making time for ourselves, and the wonderful energy of our entertaining emcee Ali Plath. Angela also shared some simple techniques that we can practice daily to further support our wellbeing.

Our panel, featuring Ali, Angela and Jennifer from Dynamique Physiotherapy & Wellness, shared practical tips and reminders about how the small things we do each day can make a big difference to our wellbeing.

We were also delighted to enjoy the beautiful musical talents of Lauren Bunney, stunning table centrepieces from SWELL Sculpture Festival, and a wonderful collection of local stall hosts showcasing products and services aligned with our nurturing theme.

One of the highlights was a beautiful creative collaborative exercise by one of our stall hosts Anna of Art Therapy Gold Coast, where guests were invited to contribute to a canvas by painting something meaningful to them. As the canvas came together, the final artwork beautifully revealed the word CONNECTION — a wonderful reflection of the afternoon and the power of many people contributing to create something special together.

To top it all off, every guest went home with a beautiful pampering gift pack and a copy of Ocean Road Magazine.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, supported and attended. Your enthusiasm, generosity and contribution helped make Southern Women Connect such a memorable and special event.

Here’s to continuing to connect, nurture and support one another.

We had a wonderful evening for the GC South Business Connect, proudly co-hosted with our friends at SWELL Sculpture Festival

It was a fantastic opportunity to hear first-hand about this much-loved community event, admire some spectacular SWELL sculptures on display at Balter Brewery, and hear from talented artist Nick Warfield about his passion for art and creativity.

A big thank you to all who joined us, Sumptuous Fine Food for the delicious catering, Balter Brewery for hosting us, and of course our co-hosts SWELL Sculpture Festival for their ongoing support of GC South Business Connect.

We love creating opportunities for local businesses and community members to connect, build relationships and expand their networks.
