Huge changes finally confirmed.
For many first home buyers who did not qualify for the current scheme were waiting until Jan next year to move. (Either due to earning too much or could not find their suitable property in the restrictive price caps)

This change pushes it right forward to October this year.

No more income cap requirements
Higher purchasing prices
(For those in NSW:
Sydney or other major regional areas (Newcastle, central coast) has been lifted from $900k to $1.5 mill)
More spaces available for everyone that qualifies.

This will mean a lot of people will be able to get into a property that previously could not.

Also note this is not just for first home buyers.
But also people who have owned before but not held any property in the last 10 years.

A scheme to allow all first homebuyers to purchase a property with only a 5 per cent deposit will begin in October, three months earlier than Labor promised at the federal election.
