An Ex RBA board member believes interest rates will need to rise around 2% in the next 2 years. Though you wouldn't stake your home on this it could be a great time to look at 3-5 year fixed rates while they are still low.

Do you have a Westpac variable interest only loan?? If so be prepared as they will be increasing their rates by .34% as of the 1st July. On a $400,000 loan that will be an increase of $113/month on your repayments. There are still some good options out there for interest only so if you need some advice please message or call 0427 702 203.

For anyone looking to get in on the governments $15,000 First Home Owners Grant you may want to act soon. The grant is being reduced down to $10,000 as of the 1st July 2017. Any contract to build or buy a brand new home that is signed prior to this date will still be eligible for the grant.

No doesn't really mean NO.

When you walk into a bank and are told you can't get the finance for that beautiful new home or high yield investment property, don't give up. Each bank has it's own policies on many different criteria such as income that includes bonuses and commissions and types of employment such as self employed, temporary or casual. Even post codes can affect your chances. This is where a broker can be a huge asset and a time saver. Brokers know the ins and outs of each lender and therefore can quickly direct you to the lender that best fits your situation.
