☕💛 Charity in Comfort! 💛☕

Last week the AWIB team swapped suits for slippers and came to work in our PJs to support the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea! 🫖🍰

We shared some delicious treats, enjoyed a cuppa, and tested our knowledge with a round of tea-themed trivia — all in the name of a great cause.

So far, we’ve raised $332 towards our $500 goal — and the best part? PSC will be matching every dollar we raise! 🙌💰

✨ A Big Thank You! ✨

We are so grateful for the amazing support we’ve received so far for A Better Life For Foster Kids Inc! Thanks to the generosity of our employees and community we’ve already collected an unbelievable amount of toys, towels, care packs and gift cards, all of which will bring joy and comfort to foster kids this Christmas. 💛

But it’s not over yet! There are still a few days left if you’d like to contribute. We’re accepting donations of gifts valued at $25–$30.

🎁 Every little bit helps, so whether it’s a new toy, game, or practical item, your kindness can make a huge difference.

If you’d like to get involved, feel free to drop off your donation at 40 Argyle Street, Traralgon between 9am and 5pm.

AWIB are honoured to be hosting a tree again for A Better Life For Foster Kids Inc, a Gippsland based charity that provides on-going support to children and their kinship or foster carers.

With demand being higher than ever this year we would love to assist in creating a special Christmas for as many foster kids as possible 🎄

We are accepting gift donations to our office at 40 Argyle Street, Traralgon up until 15th December 2024 (open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday).

Some suggestions include:
- Beach Towels (kids and adult sizes)
- Toiletry packs
- Balls
- Cars
- Gift Cards (preferably Target, Kmart or Big W)
- Gifts for all ages (under $35 and unwrapped)

A huge thank you to Alan Wilson Insurance Brokers (AWIB) for their continued support of Gippsland Women in Business and for sponsoring our upcoming event, ‘The Accidental Counsellor’.

Growing up in a thriving regional centre like Traralgon, community involvement is woven into the fabric of everyday life. AWIB embodies this spirit by regularly volunteering, supporting, and sponsoring various local charities, clubs, not-for-profit organisations and community events.

Their commitment to the community goes beyond just sponsorships. Every month, the AWIB team hosts a fundraising event, with each team member choosing a charity to support and creating a theme for the day.

Most recently, the team celebrated 40 years of business. Starting with only two employees (including Alan himself), the team has grown to an impressive 24 staff and is conducting business worldwide 🌏

Local organisations such as these are an incredible asset to our community. We are incredibly grateful for their longstanding partnership and their dedication to making our region a better place for everyone.

AWIB turned yellow for a day in July, this was in support of Endometriosis Australia!

Endo Yellow for Endometriosis Awareness logo has been taken from the Australian Wattle. When in flower, the golden wattle displays the national colours, green and gold. As one species of a large genus of flora growing across Australia, the golden wattle is a symbol of unity.

Wattle is ideally suited to withstand Australia’s droughts, winds and bush fires. The resilience of wattle represents the spirit of the resilience of *women with endometriosis. The plant itself withstands a lot of hardship and remains strong but has delicate, soft flowers. This strength and delicacy of the wattle reflect the strength and femininity of women with endometriosis.

Endometriosis Australia is a nationally accredited charity that raises awareness, and educates and funds research for endometriosis. Efforts have reduced the diagnosis time from 7–12 years to 6.5 years on average, but much work still needs to be done.

As a team we managed to raise $265, these donations will go to help fund the Endometriosis Australia Nurse scholarship Program.

🥳 Happy 40th Birthday AWIB 🥳

On the 1st July 1984 AWIB was born! Alan had a dream of becoming an international insurance brokerage and conducting business around the world 🌎

The office started with only 2 employees and today has 24 amazing staff ⭐️

We achieved his dream back in 2018 when we became a Lloyd’s coverholder and we haven’t looked back.

Hard work, commitment, dedication, passion and enthusiasm are only some of the key ingredients to making this successful business.

Happy Birthday AWIB, here’s to 40 more 🥂

This month, we're thrilled to announce that we raised $290 for the Smith Family Charity!

The Smith Family is dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children, providing them with educational tools and resources to help them thrive.

🎉🌟 What a beautiful morning! Our Biggest Morning Tea today was a success with a fantastic spread of food. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised $352.37!

So far the PSC group has raised a collective $1,228 and with the PSC Foundation matching all donations, our impact will be doubled! Thank you all for your support and contributions. Let’s keep this momentum going! 💙🍰
