Update from Fiona Saliakos 2015 recipient of our Llew Vale Scholarship, Studying Exercise and Sports Science at Deakin University;
"I still often think about the Community Bank scholarship support I received after Year 12. It genuinely helped me settle into life in Geelong and covered a lot of my rent while studying, so I’m still very grateful for that support.
I’m now based down in Hobart, Tasmania, and currently almost halfway through a study year with the Tasmanian Academy of Leadership and Sport (TALS). It’s a dual diploma program combining Leadership & Management with Sport, and it’s closely connected with the new Tasmania Devils AFL club. The program was created as a pathway into the sporting industry and leadership roles, and it has honestly been such a great opportunity to be part of.
I’ve had the chance to meet a lot of people within the club, attend community events, and be involved in things like the membership launch day while watching the club grow from the ground up. It’s been really rewarding to experience".
