We are excited to shine the spotlight on our newest Walaaybaa Junior Ranger School Based Trainees!

All three students have been involved in our Junior Ranger Program and have consistently demonstrated dedication, commitment, and a strong passion for learning and caring for Country. Their hard work has paid off, with each student successfully securing a School Based Traineeship with the Walaaybaa Junior Ranger Program.

Over the next year, they will spend one day each week working alongside Richard, gaining hands-on experience through a range of exciting and meaningful projects while completing their Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management through TAFE NSW โ€” all while continuing their school studies.

This is a fantastic opportunity for these young people to build practical skills, connect with culture and Country, and explore future career pathways in environmental management and conservation.
We are incredibly proud to have these young leaders on board and can't wait to watch their confidence, skills, and knowledge continue to grow.

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations to our newest Junior Ranger SBATs!
๐ŸŒฑ Keep an eye on our page for updates as they get involved in some deadly projects throughout the year.

Unfortunately, we need to advise that the planned Cultural Burn originally scheduled for tomorrow 7 May has had to be cancelled.

Following advice from our ecologist and careful consideration of current environmental conditions, it has been determined that the ongoing dry weather and extremely low soil moisture mean conditions are not suitable for a safe and beneficial burn at this time.

Cultural burning is about caring for Country and supporting regeneration, biodiversity, and ecosystem health. In the current conditions, a burn is unlikely to deliver those outcomes and may instead place additional stress on native plants, animals, and the broader environment.

While we know this will be disappointing for those who were planning to attend, protecting Country must always come first. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to sharing future opportunities when conditions are more favourable.

Thank you for your continued support. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ”ฅ

At 11:30 today, Land Councils and supporters from right across NSW are taking to the streets in Sydney to stand up against proposed changes to the Crown Lands Bill - changes that risk eroding, and potentially reversing, the hard-won progress of the past 43 years under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act.

Weโ€™re proud that representatives from the NSW Aboriginal Land Council are there, marching alongside communities from across the state. Closer to home, we stand in solidarity and continue to support this important cause at a local level.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has come into the office this morning to show their support. Your presence matters, and your voices are part of something bigger. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ
