🌿 TWO WEEKS TO GO! 🌿

The countdown is officially on to the 2026 Ngarringilanha Aboriginal Ranger Gathering.

From 21–25 September, Aboriginal Rangers will come together at Trelawney Station, Somerton for five days of culture, connection, learning, sharing and plenty of laughs.

Ngarringilanha means “Sitting Together” — and that is exactly what this week is about.

Sitting together.
Sharing knowledge.
Learning from one another.
Building relationships.
And celebrating the incredible work Aboriginal Rangers do caring for Country and community.

We cannot wait to welcome everyone to Gomeroi Country.

New FREE Public Preschool at Hillvue Public School

We are helping spread the word about an exciting new early learning opportunity for local families, with a fee-free public preschool at Hillvue Public School.

Children will be eligible if they turn 4 before 31 July this year or are starting school next year with priority given to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, as well as children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and those with limited access to early learning.

There are no school catchment boundaries for preschool enrolment, so families do not need to live within the Hillvue Public School catchment to express their interest.

We encourage our local Aboriginal families with little ones approaching school age to check out the flyer and find out more.

Last week our Junior Rangers, Opportunity Hub and Post School Support staff worked with Local Land Services to bring students out to Bective TSR for a Native Seeding Day Event.

30 students from Peel HS and Farrer MAHS came along to assist with the native seed spreading. They had the opportunity to learn from Local Land Services, and local ecologist about the box gum grassy woodland.

Local ecologists spoke about the value of native plants in box gum grassy woodland and afterwards, all students helped out with spreading the seeds while putting what they learned into action.

A big thank you to Local Land Services for organising the day and to Peel High School and Farrer MAHS for coming along.
