Apps...love them or hate them, they're here to stay and are now part of our vocabulary and life. And if you're in business, you've got to love them or get left behind!
Over the last few weeks, I've been reminded how amazing some of the apps available to small business are and how easily integrated into existing business processes they can be. There's apps for customer relationship management, workflow management, emailing and marketing, billing and invoicing, IT management, time tracking, reporting, vehicle tracking, and learning management, to mention just a few.
Many are free, or at least offer a free version that gives you a taste of the product but usually limiting the features or the time you can use it. Most, however, are offered on a subscription basis which means you pay a monthly fee to use the app. That equates to no or little upfront costs (except for the cost of implementation and integration into existing systems), automatic updates without your IT department needing to be involved, reduced IT infrastructure, and most are cloud based meaning you can access and benefit from them on the go, even from your smart phone or tablet.
