It is articles like the below that remind me on a daily basis why I do what I do.

This is incorrect information and a honest reliable and experienced mortgage broker would explain options to this client and the provisions in place to meet this eligibility requirement.
The lenders and the Govt are fully aware that its unreasonable to expect first home buyers have their 2025 tax finalised already and have afforded grace periods for this reason and alternative eligibility documents with lenders. There are also multiple ways to buy your first home that need to be discussed and investigated properly where the first home buyer scheme may not be the best option financially.
