A brief clarification on a Bathla lender list circulating online this week.

A lender named "Benchmark" appears at the bottom of it, and a few people have asked whether that's us. It isn't. Benchmark Capital has no exposure to Bathla and has never provided finance to it.

For anyone unfamiliar with how we operate: Benchmark Capital does not lend to, or invest in, third-party developers. We are a fully integrated platform. Benchmark raises and deploys the capital, FYVE originates and delivers the development, and Binah builds it. Every project we fund is originated, developed and constructed within the group.

Our thoughts are with the subcontractors, staff and purchasers affected by the Bathla administration.

ROSE BAY | DA Approved

A significant milestone for Benchmark Capital and our investment partners, with development approval now secured for our Rose Bay project, in partnership with FYVE Developments.

The approval marks an important step forward for the project and reflects Benchmark’s strategy of investing in high-quality residential opportunities in blue-chip Sydney locations where strong underlying fundamentals support long-term value.

ROSE BAY | DA Approved Development approval has been secured for Rose Bay, advancing FYVE’s next residential project in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Designed by PBD Architects, the project will deliver 19 residences in a tightly held harbourside location, moments from the foreshore and an easy 200m walk to Rose Bay village.

Our Rose Bay project was approved under the State Government’s Low and midrise housing policy, a policy which rezoned well connected, amenity rich areas that had been previously under-zoned.

Q4 UPDATE | Benchmark Capital closes the quarter with continued fund growth, strong performance against key targets and further progress across the development pipeline.

With active progress across Northbridge and Rose Bay, and the recent acquisition of Lane Cove, Benchmark Capital enters the next quarter with a stronger development pipeline and continued confidence in its investment strategy.

The last quarter also saw three senior appointments added across private capital, fund analysis and financial leadership, strengthening our capability and expertise.

Over a career spanning almost three decades, Fawaz has helped build and lead financial institutions, champion educational excellence, and strengthen economic and cultural ties between Australia and the Arab world.
