I will never forget being a young woman on my way to a press day for a project, worrying—as so many of us do—about what to wear. Designers had offered all kinds of beautiful, au courant dresses, yet in my mind, the questions kept circling: Was I enough? Was this enough?
As often happens on press days in hotels, you cross paths with other actors. On this particular day, while I was quietly filling my head with not-so-kind thoughts, Diane Keaton walked through the lobby and greeted me warmly. She was the very embodiment of beauty, power, and authenticity.
And I remember thinking, Ahhh… yes. I get it.
Her way of being in the world—all of it—reminded me that our deepest, truest selves are the most divine.
