c**t Providence gave Newgate Farm proprietor Henry Field his first Derby success, with the Wootton Bassett c**t scoring a decisive victory in the G1 Queensland Derby at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Bred by Jonathan Munz’s GSA Bloodstock, Providence was offered through the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft at the 2024 Yearling Sale, where he was purchased by the China Horse Club, Newgate Farm, Go Bloodstock and Trilogy Racing partnership for $625k

Munz, through bloodstock agent Dean Hawthorne, purchased the subsequently G1 Thousand Guineas placed Southbank, the dam of Providence, as a yearling also at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

Trained by Chris Waller, Providence is the 120th individual G1-winning Inglis graduate since 2018.

graduate Headley Grange claimed a deserved maiden G1 in the Kingsford Smith Cup at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Trained by Joe Pride, Headley Grange was bought by HDB Bloodstock – on behalf of Bob Manwaring - through the 2023 Inglis Digital November (Late) Online Sale for $120k after just three career starts. He has since won 11 times for more than $2.4m in prizemoney and will now target the G1 Stradbroke Handicap.

He joins the likes of Half Yours, Sheza Alibi, She’s Extreme, Mariamia and Bella Vella as G1 winners purchased off Inglis Digital, while shares in subsequent G1 winners like Private Harry, Port Lockroy, Charm Stone, Benedetta and Baraqiel have also been purchased off the platform.

The Inglis Digital June (Early) Online Sale opens for bidding this Friday.

NEWS: Inglis Digital graduate Headley Grange (Exosphere) won his maiden G1 at Eagle Farm today when scoring a deserved victory in the Kingsford Smith Cup.

Trained by Joe Pride at Warwick Farm, Headley Grange is one of the most consistent horses in racing.

Not only is he a 12-time winner from 28 starts – with seven minor placings as well – this preparation alone he has finished 4th in the G1 Canterbury Stakes behind Joliestar, 5th in the G1 George Ryder Stakes behind Autumn Glow, 5th in the G1 All Aged Stakes behind Beiwacht and 7th in the G1 Doncaster Mile behind Sheza Alibi.

He also won the $1.5m Alan Brown Stakes in the spring.

NEWS: Newgate Farm proprietor Henry Field celebrated his first Derby success when emerging Easter c**t Providence (Wootton Bassett) scored a decisive victory in today’s G1 Queensland Derby at Eagle Farm.

A maiden heading into this preparation, the Chris Waller-trained Providence has come of age over the past few months.

He put the writing on the wall with an eye-catching 3rd in the traditional Derby lead-up - the G3 Rough Habit Plate – a fortnight ago and never looked like losing today, thanks to a perfect ride by James McDonald.

NEWS: Fiorenza (Kingman) – the top lot in today’s Inglis Digital May (Late) Online Sale – will be immediately retired and visit Arrowfield’s new stallion Lead Artist this season after selling to the famed Hunter Valley nursery for $325,000.

Fiorenza had initially passed in for Mark Towell’s GT Park Spelling Farm but a deal was finalised tonight that will see the 5YO spend the next phase of her life in the luscious paddocks of Arrowfield.
