Cotton Australia

Cotton Australia Cotton Australia is the peak body for Australia’s cotton producers, supporting up to 1500 cotton growers Cotton Australia exists for its growers.

Its resources, human and financial, are directed to initiatives and programs that benefit cotton producers directly and indirectly. For more than 50 years, Cotton Australia has grown alongside an industry that demands the highest standards, and during that time has delivered a series of sustained wins for its growers. Cotton Australia was established in 1972 (as the Australian Cotton Foundation) a

nd in 2009 merged with the Australian Cotton Growers Research Association (also established in 1972). Led by a Board of 10 cotton growers and ginners, the organisation is funded by a voluntary levy paid by growers on each bale of cotton produced. Cotton Australia provides a united voice for cotton growers across research and development, stewardship, natural resource management, biosecurity and cotton production issues such as water. This is achieved though policy and advocacy, education, communication and grower services. Cotton Australia has offices in Sydney, Narrabri and Toowoomba and field staff based in most of the cotton production regions. The activities of Board and Staff are directed by an Annual Operating Plan, underpinned by a 2023-2028 Strategic Plan that sets out priorities and core areas of business.
