We’re excited to introduce Joan Marie Gacad as our new Underwriting Admin Assistant at Agile! 🎉

With a strong background as an IC Layout Engineer for 8 years (3 in the Philippines and 5 in Singapore), Joan made the switch to supporting small business owners in the US as a Virtual Assistant in 2022—gaining experience in admin and social media management along the way.

At Agile, Joan is looking forward to growing her knowledge in insurance and putting her administrative, detail-oriented, and analytical skills into practice. She loves the opportunity to keep learning, and finds fulfillment in ticking things off her checklist—making progress every day.

Outside of work, Joan enjoys playing guitar, cooking, and shopping (especially grocery runs 🛒). Recently, she’s taken on a new challenge: staying consistent with her workouts 💪.

Our co-founders Robin, Ben, and Nick spent a few days in Manila with our Agile team there, and it was nothing short of special. 🎉

We celebrated birthdays, marked Agile’s 10th anniversary, shared plenty of amazing food, and enjoyed some healthy competition over games. Most importantly, we got to spend meaningful time together.

We’re excited to officially launch our Construction Underwriting offering, led by Gordon McNab, our new Head of Construction.

With over 35 years of experience in contract works and engineering underwriting, Gordon brings deep expertise and leadership to help us build out our Construction portfolio. His background includes marine engineering, senior roles at major insurers, and time as a reinsurer — and he’s already hard at work setting up our new Contract Works offering.

When he’s not underwriting, you’ll find Gordon out fishing — or sharing his extensive knowledge with the team. 🎣

✨ Last week we marked a big milestone – Agile’s 10 year anniversary! ✨
Our Australia and New Zealand teams came together in Sydney to celebrate. For many of us, it was the first time meeting in person, which made the occasion even more special.
A huge thank you to our industry partners and colleagues for supporting us over the years, and to every member of the Agile team – past and present – who has helped shape who we are today.

Say hello to Ma. Angelika Jane Maslog, our Underwriting Administrative Assistant at Agile! 👋

For Angelika, what keeps work exciting is staying focused on her life goals—always striving to learn, grow, and move forward.
Before joining Agile, she worked as an Auditor, where her main responsibility was preparing Financial Statements. Now, she’s diving into the world of insurance, currently studying General Insurance modules to deepen her knowledge and understanding.

What Angelika loves most about insurance is that it connects people—a meaningful aspect of the industry. She also believes insurance could be improved by making it easier to explain to potential customers, so that more people understand its importance. Looking ahead, Angelika sees insurance becoming one of the most in-demand products with a huge market base in the future.

Outside of work, Angelika enjoys listening to music, watching anime, and catching up on dramas.

Welcome to the team, Rhosalie! 🎉

We’re excited to have Rhosalie Gaffud join Agile as our new Operations Admin Assistant.
For Rhosalie, work is always exciting when there’s a chance to continuously learn and tackle new challenges. In her previous role as a Service Desk Team Lead, she managed a team of 25—setting goals, assigning tasks, coaching team members, and ensuring deadlines were met.

She was drawn to the insurance industry through colleagues’ referrals, and what she loves most is the peace of mind it brings to people. She believes the industry could benefit from more transparency and sees its future as personalized, tech-driven, and integrated into daily life.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find Rhosalie deep into a round of Mobile Legends—a team-based strategy game that challenges her to think critically, make quick decisions, and communicate under pressure (skills that sound perfect for Agile!). She also loves the satisfaction of solving tricky problems, whether in a game or real life.
