A great little article by ABC News on the current market situation with Australians voting with their feet and choosing the broker channel vs direct to bank.

It’s hard for the banks to compete with what Brokers can offer; long standing relationship, ongoing service, and an array of options to find you the right solution.

The banking royal commission described the way in which mortgage brokers are paid as "conflicted remuneration" and "money for nothing". Customers don't care.
