The ubank app is moving to passkeys 🔐

Passkeys are a secure form of login that pairs your device’s security (e.g. your face ID or PIN) with an encrypted ‘keychain’ that holds your stored passwords.

Passkeys help to provide strong protection against phishing and scams by making it harder for someone to gain access to your ubank app. For instance, a one-time code being sent to your phone or email is much easier to steal than your fingerprint.

Who already uses passkeys? ❓

Ubank is joining leading tech giants and payment providers like Google, Apple, Amazon, PayPal, and Australia’s MyGov who are also introducing passkey technology.

What do I need to do? ✍️

Make sure your phone and app is up-to-date with the latest operating system. New ubank customers will establish a passkey during setup. For existing customers, we’ll prompt you in the app, or you can select ‘enable new passkeys’ in your app security settings.

Our new interest rate changes mean ubank customers can earn more bonus interest on savings than they did before.

Customers who are earlier in their savings journey will be significantly better off, while customers who have $100K-$250K in savings will still get a better deal from the combined tiered rates.

Check out these examples that outline the effective interest rate for $50k, $150k and $250k of combined savings.
