Great news for the hounds of finance ๐ฉ๐ฆฎ๐โ๐ฆบ๐

We know pets bring many mental and physical health benefits. Theyโre vital companions and much loved members of the family.
But for some residents in strata buildings, owning a pet is still not an option. Blanket pet bans cannot be overturned in Strata buildings if a small minority of 25% vote for them to be retained.
This makes it difficult for families with pets to downsize or relocate, and people shouldnโt have to choose between their pets or a home.
Iโve lived in the inner city for most of my adult life, and for most of that time, our family has had dogs. Creating a pet-friendly City is a high priority for me.
Throughout my parliamentary career and as Lord Mayor, I have asked for legislative change to support renters having pets and recently asked Government to remove โno pets clausesโ from rental agreements.
So Iโm pleased Jenny Leong will table a petition to stop strata buildings retaining blanket bans of pets to the NSW Parliament.
Iโll be adding my name, I hope you do too.
