We’re on the road againnnn

A month ago, Renee Yarroll, Tom Felton and I travelled to Wollongong Hospital to host a coffee stand in support of their RMOA, JMOs and medical students.

It was our first of what will be many visits to Wollongong and WOW! I must say, you definitely win best view and education auditorium / theatre

Loved the robust conversations around the differences between us and general brokers, and even some of our direct competitors. Glad to see how our service proposition resonates on first interaction - not to mention our residential lending expertise and willingness to test the whole market, rather than a tick and flick to 1 major bank

On the back of our collaboration with NSW Health – Northern Sydney Local Health District (Hornsby Ku-ring-gai and Northern Beaches Hospital) we were today provided the opportunity to host breakfast for the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital ‘Grand Rounds’ session

These educational sessions are presented by consultants and attended by medical staff. Todays session was run by Dr Kazi Nahar, who provided insight into Oncology and immunotherapy toxicity. Specifically, around Melanoma and skin cancer management including targeted therapy, and immunotherapy

I was privileged to have an opportunity to introduce Medi Financial, and our POD who will be personally supporting the hospital staff through 2026 and beyond.

A special thanks to Lisa Rawling and Dr Yog Chopra for your willingness and help in fostering this partnership.

Thanks also to Dr Natasha Warrell and the whole committee for your ongoing collaboration, support and hospitality. Also great to see some familiar and very happy faces in Dr Valentina Buay and Dr Evelyn C. 😁 - thanks for making us feel so welcome.

Medi Financial is proud to be sponsoring this year’s Australian Medical Association (NSW) Private Practice Conference 2026 - a practical one-day event designed to help doctors navigate the non-clinical side of private medical practice.

The conference is for medical practitioners starting a private practice and/or currently working in private practice and focuses on the non‑clinical aspects of private medical practice.

Medi Financial will also be presenting on the topic of Finance for Private Practice, sharing practical financial insights to help doctors better manage and structure their practice.

Led by the AMA (NSW) Workplace Relations team alongside experienced medical and industry experts, the conference offers valuable real-world guidance and networking opportunities with peers navigating similar challenges.

The event is also AMA CPD Home-accepted, with attendees eligible to earn up to 7 educational CPD activity hours for GPs and non‑GP specialists that use AMA CPD Home. A certificate of attendance will be provided upon completion of the event.

Did someone say HOT POT?

Two months ago, our POD had the honour of being Medi Financial sponsors for the ACMA ‘Young Bloods’ Welcome to 2026 HOT POT dinner, at Hot Pot City Bankstown.

No sales pitch - just goodwill; a lovely dinner building friendship and meaningful relationships.

Who are the Young Bloods?

ACMA Young Bloods is a subcommittee of ACMA NSW, seeking to promote professional standards and provide a forum for social and professional exchange for junior doctors within the association.

The evening was tailored to 50 junior doctors and an opportunity for new and old members to connect at the beginning of the clinical year.

It was great to meet new members, share a meal together and get to know each other on a personal level.

This week Renee Yarroll, Tom Felton and I had the pleasure of hosting a coffee stand at Northern Beaches Hospital

This was the first of many visits and initiatives on the back of our collaboration with HBMROA and the Northern Sydney Local Health District

Given the recent employment changes at NBH, we shared a space with Smartgroup Salary Packaging and LeasePLUS who provide great support to PAYG health professionals across multiple health districts in NSW - finally great to meet the NSW Health FTB gurus and discuss the benefits of SS for Doctors from a loan servicing perspective.

Pleasure meeting Director Leigh Penberthy, Senior Consultant Mitchell Skepper and Melissa O'Brien. Appreciate you making us feel welcome 🙏 . Also appreciate you passing a few clients over to discuss Medi Financial offering 👍
