Place Score

Place Score Place Score is the world's first Place Experience measurement tool where communities assess their own places to direct the change they value.

PLACESCORE is a groundbreaking place experience (PX) diagnostic engagement, benchmarking, tracking and marketing business. Our purpose is to make places better for people by providing insights that guide more effective investment. PLACESCORE offers two sophisticated data collection tools to gather and analyse insights - Care Factor and PX Assessment. Together they reveal what people care about and

how a place rates against that benchmark. Attributes with a high Care Factor and low PX score can be considered priorities, while those with both high a Care Factor and high PX can be celebrated. PLACESCORE also allows you to capture return on investment. You can conduct a PX Assessment before and after implementing improvements - like streetscape upgrades, to measure their impact on your community's place experience. Understanding and measuring PX is important because it can be used to direct changes people will value, and measure the positive impact of investment.

Stoked to receive a handwritten thanks and book from Place Score's CEO Kylie Legge as thanks for presenting in a recent webinar. It was a pleasure to be able to give back in some way to an industry that's doing so much to improve life in urban areas.

If you've got an interest in urban design, I highly recommend coming along to Placescore's or, more locally, TAP Tasmanian Alliance for Placemaking 's events!

📉 Liveability trends across Australia show decline in community sentiment – only one state stable.

The results of the 2025 Australian Liveability Census are starting to come in – with initial analysis indicating a drop in liveability in all but one state and territory!

While the drop is relatively low when averaged across the nation, age cohorts are experiencing their local neighbourhoods quite differently.
