Purpose With Profit

Purpose With Profit Business 🚀 Advisory for Purpose-led Economy 🌏 - 🌱 | Climate | Social Enterprises | Indigenous We believe business can be a force of good.

Our mission is to grow your social and environmental impact alongside your profit. Plant-based businesses create a lot of good. So let’s grow them, quickly! Purpose with Profit (PwP) helps motivated founders of vegan food businesses who are not growing as fast as they deserve. By identifying and closing strategic gaps, we accelerate business growth, creating more quality time, financial freedom, a

nd greater social impact. As plant-based business booms, we provide you with strategies and tools to not just survive, but thrive! The 20th century business model does not value the sustainability of the planet and how a business treats other stakeholders. At PwP, we have developed our own methodology to measure business success based on Purpose, People, Planet strategies, as well as Profit. These additional three pillars will enable your business to thrive well into the future and outshine a crowded marketplace. PwP is led by Bob Ratnarajah; founder, CEO, and business mentor with over 20 years’ experience in business strategy. Purpose with Profit was formerly known as Beta Catalyst Consulting. With a renewed sense of purpose, we have rebranded to align with our own values. To grow your business to the next level, our network of advisors are available to provide new insight. At PwP, we can introduce you to talented experts with commercial or industry experience, who are now acting to support the growth of plant-based businesses.

👋🏾 there,

Some think social enterprise is new. We beg to differ.

It has been a whirlwind trip to Sri Lanka, celebrating a wedding, sorting family matters and meeting some extraordinary impact businesses along the way.

In a country that has faced so many challenges, it is deeply inspiring to see leaders who simply keep going.

We met a number of larger scale impact businesses across solar projects, regenerative agriculture, organic fertilisers, eco tourism and even an impact BPO. Our cup was full. We talked so much my voice started to fade.
Now, to social enterprises.

There is growing government interest across the Anglo-west in localising economies and supporting social enterprise.

What is encouraging is that this thinking is not new elsewhere.

At the airport in Sri Lanka, I came across .srilanka , a government run social enterprise supporting over 6,000 livelihoods.

Better for the planet, and better for the people who are fairly rewarded for their work. This institution has been running since 1964.

If you are visiting Sri Lanka, please buy your souvenirs and products from Laksala. Every purchase counts.

We are witnessing a structural shift in how the world works.

It may feel uncertain at times.

But always remember, anything is possible.

Together, we can make a better world more probable.

Kindly,
Bob Sudharshan

It’s Climate Action Week!

Just a year ago, Australia had a choice. Had the opposition won, our climate trajectory would have been squashed. Thankfully, we chose better!

Here are 3 highlights from Day One:

🎬 One: All About Carbon Credits
James Stewart from Always Carbon broke down the different types of carbon credits — and introduced me to Biochar. A powerful, natural carbon sink that stores CO2 in soil for thousands of years, while also improving soil fertility. Mind blown! 🤯

🎬 Two: Carbon Musical Chairs Thomas
and Roger Cohen made carbon pricing history actually fun! Key takeaway — carbon baselines are reducing ~5% per year, per company. Progress is happening, slowly but surely. 💡

🎬 Three: Embodied Carbon in Construction
and the MECLA panel dropped a big stat — the built environment is responsible for one-quarter of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions. The good news? The technology to build with less carbon already exists.
We just need the will to use it. 🏗️

When was the last time you heard any of this on the mainstream news?

Follow these leaders. Amplify their work. Positive change is happening — we just need more people to believe in it! 💚

Remember, anything is possible.
Let’s make a better world more probable!

Not even close. But the best years never do, right? This year took me down unexpected paths – fighting for truth, transparency, and a democracy that works for all of us. 🙏🏾 Despite the detours, 2025 gave me three powerful reminders of why this work matters:✨ Working with climate NGO’s and Muliticultural leaders to create a better democracy✨Preseting in China for an Impact conference - Yo Way - Yo Ji✨Purpose with Profit - Client impact! Now I want to hear from YOU 👇Fellow change catalysts, purpose-led founders, impact creators: What were your top 3 highlights from 2025?Not the polished version. Just back from China and I’m buzzing with hope. 🇨🇳✨Whilst two major Aussie parties ditch net zero, China and Scandinavia are accelerating HARD in the opposite direction. The contrast is wild. This wasn’t just another veg conference – it was a full-blown impact movement: Food, Wellbeing, Lifestyle, Public Health, Sustainability and Good Economy. All colliding beautifully. 🌱From stage, I asked what the audience wanted to hear. Then tailored two topics around 10,000 Food Disruptionand why vested interests have held us back in Australia. And how to overcome.Good Economy - how to build social capital by measuring more than money.Today, connected with Nick Seton from Parents for Climate and Nina discussing sustainable fashion from BRICS nations. The dots are connecting. 💚The world IS changing for better, even when home feels stuck. So much more to share from this journey. Stay positive. Stay engaged.Watch this space 👀

👋🏾 Everyone,

Hope you and your family are doing well.

It’s been a long time since we last connected.

Some of you have paused. Some have pivoted. Some are still pushing through.
Whatever season you’re in, we just want to say — we see you.

The last few years have tested many of us in more ways than we imagined. I hope the learning carries you into your next chapter with strength and clarity.

During this time, PwP expanded our work to other impact sectors.

Only a handful of plantbased businesses connected to other impact verticals.

Broadly, this is referred to as the ‘purpose’ sector.

We started in the plant-based sector because of the massive impact for the public and all life on our fragile planet.

We are sharing this message with you because of an event coming up about marketing to conscious consumers.

If you or someone you know is looking at the next stage of growth for your product, do consider the event in Sydney on the 1st of August by .digital .

From social enterprise to circularity and more.

https://www.reco.net.au/reco-live-2025

The tickets are modest for this line-up.

If this sparks something, or you’re curious about how PwP can support your next stage, just reply and let’s have a chat.

We would love to reconnect properly.

⚖️🌏🗳️⚖️🌏🗳️⚖️🌏 🗳️

I’ve channelled Purpose With Profit to fight for our democracy.

This year was meant to be big.

I was set to write Greedy for Good—a book spotlighting scale-up purpose-led businesses.
And bring on more clients for the Purpose With Profit Growth Blueprint: a keynote to open minds to why the world is changing—and how Boards and Founders can future-proof their business.

But something bigger is at stake.

Through my research, global events, and our work during the referendum, I saw a train wreck coming.
Not in business—but in democracy.

In my experience: The Voice Referendum was Australia’s Brexit moment—where algorithms, misinformation and disinformation ran rampant.

Here’s the truth:

Purpose-led businesses can only thrive when:
1️⃣ People have time and discretionary funds to choose better.
2️⃣ Governments act in the interest of the majority.

Right now, both are under serious threat—in Australia and beyond.

So, I’ve shifted my focus.

I’ve channelled PwP into what matters most: Empowering multicultural communities, fighting misinformation, and standing up for democracy.
And sharing the good word about sustainable solutions—better for humanity and the planet.

Thankfully, I found amazing leadership in Multicultural Leadership Initiative and Asian Australians for Climate Solutions , who have been championing in the importance of sustainability and democracy.

Because if we don’t get this right, the purpose-led economy won’t stand a chance.

Now an Ask!

🪄- if you are a purpose-led business, show the good you are doing. It's more important now, more than ever.

🪄- if you are a purpose-led citizen, show what you are doing to bring about a better world, like savings with solar, batteries.

Business can be a force for good—but only if democracy holds.

Watch this space. There’s more to come.

At Purpose With Profit, we are an advocate and growth partner for business being a force of good.

Part of the good is calling out injustices that can be addressed as we all move forward.

Posted • Jan 26 is a day of reflection and mourning, not celebration. As the date approaches, it’s important to acknowledge the ongoing pain it represents for many First Nations people.

This year, let’s come together to show solidarity.

Here are 4 ways you can stand with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and encourage others to reflect on the true history of this day.

1. Download & Display Our Free Poster

Let your space reflect your values and show where you stand. Whether at home, work, school, or in your community, this poster is a powerful statement for change.

📲 Download for FREE (link in bio) , display it proudly, and encourage others to scan the QR code to sign the petition.

2. Sign & Share Petition

You can help by signing this petition (link in bio) which puts pressure on the Prime Minister, to reconsider and recognise the profound significance of this date and to acknowledge the harm that celebrating “Australia Day” on January 26 continues to cause Indigenous Communities.

3. Wear your values & spark a conversation

On Jan 26, wear your values and spark a conversation with your friends, family, or colleagues about why January 26 isn’t a day of celebration.

Awareness leads to action.

Head to our campaign page (Link in bio) for a list of resources to educate yourself or share and for some merch with a message.

4. Attend a Jan 26 Event

On Jan 26 there are events across the country that provide an opportunity to reflect, stand in solidarity, and engage with First Nations Communities.

From rallies, to dawn services and cultural festivals, there are many ways to participate and honour the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this day.

Merry Christmas & Season’s Greetings to you, your staff and your family!

Another transformative year!

Wars,

Supply chain shocks,

Energy price hikes,

Cost of living crisis,

And many of you are still standing!

Well done to you!

If you are not, we understand.

Seeing the world right now is tough.

You will rise again another way.

On a positive note, the business world is now changing to measure more than money.

The planetary crisis has demanded it. It’s so much more than ‘climate change’.

The world is starting to value all biodiversity and nature....on paper.

I have also committed to writing a book titled Greedy For Good: Scaling Businesses to Balance People, Planet and Profit.

It’s time to showcase businesses that are shaping our future.

We have simplified our offering to just one service - the Growth Blueprint.

We’ll be sure to provide more details soon.

Do take the time to rest before you launch into 2025!

From our family to yours, we wish you a pleasant break.

, now championing the circular economy – what a full-circle moment!✨

Powerful takeaways from speakers:
💡 Australia is the highest per-capita carbon emitter in the OECD – we must do better!
💡 The future isn’t Utopia or Dystopia – it’s Protopia, where we improve daily, as shared.
💡 Climate change is happening now, with real impacts on all our lives, as reminded us.

The best part? There’s hope.

💫In just three years, and the Climate Salad team grew the climate tech sector from 12 to 700+ businesses – a huge leap toward their goal of 1,000 by 2030.
