Yesterday, we took some time to acknowledge the histories, Cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Reconciliation is not a single event on the calendar, it is a daily practice. It lives in the conversations we have, the respect we show and the choices we make. It is about listening, learning and being willing to do better. Reconciliation Day is a chance to reflect, take accountability, truly listen and commit to making positive change. But reconciliation doesn’t end, and that’s exactly why it matters.

This week's blog post is about reconciliation in action, and why reconciliation is ongoing.

Reconciliation in Action: Why the Work Never Stops Reconciliation is often spoken about as an end goal, but in truth it is an ongoing journey. It is not something we “achieve” and move past, it is something we actively live – every day – through our actions, our decisions and the way we walk...

Up to 30 community members visit Muru Mittigar every Thursday at 2pm, with food supplied through OzHarvest and shared based on what’s available. Throughout the week, we continue to support those in need - from homelessness to temporary housing, and families doing it tough - ensuring our community is cared for with dignity, respect and connection.
Reconciliation in action is about strengthening community, sharing resources and walking together.
We'd love to see a comment section full of examples of how we can all support our community together! Whether through donations, volunteering, or partnership, every contribution makes a difference.

Time for another project impact update... here's a before & after of a project we're currently working on at WSU & LLS Demonstration Farm in Richmond Lowlands, along the Hawkesbury River. Here we have the results of skirting Balloon Vine (Cardiospermum Grandiflorum), followed by herbicide (Glyphosate 360) treatment at ground level.
This is a perfect example of the impact of respectful, controlled and conscious environmental care. Stay tuned for future updates!

This is what impact looks like from the inside out: investing in people who carry our purpose into everything they do. Recently, members of our team attended a two-day training workshop focused on sharpening skills, driving productivity, and building the capability to become industry-leading supervisors. Because training isn't about compliance, it's about capability and at Muru we know that when our team grows, our impact travels further.

"True progress happens when we honour people, Country and Culture, turn intention into impact and drive lasting change for the future. With this being Muru's purpose, we don't take our partnerships for granted. We're incredibly fortunate to work alongside organisations and teams who have walked with us over time and continue to grow with us. The strength of Muru is reflected in our partnerships - longstanding relationships built on trust, respect, consistency and shared responsibility. We're proud to have partners who share our commitment to lasting progress and our vision for the future."

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting our first ever client event, Shared Pathways. It was a meaningful evening on Dharug Country, bringing people together to honour connection, collaboration and collective impact. It was a chance to reflect on the progress being made, recognise the impact of the amazing work we're able to do, and celebrate the strong connections and partnerships that have helped to drive that work forward.

Thank you to everyone who joined Muru Mittigar for this special gathering and contributed to the spirit of the night. We're already excited for next year's!
