At NextGen Ventures, our mission is to build creative spaces at the grassroots of Australia where fearless ambition and the pursuit of greatness is normalised.
To do that, sometimes we invite those who live and breathe this mentality – who have also seen a side of the world of startups that most at the grassroots are yet to touch – to impart their wisdom and craft onto this next generation.
Last week, in collaboration with OpenAI, we were stoked to host Marc Manara in a community fireside and AMA with ~70 of Sydney’s top young AI engineers and founders.
Beyond the many technical insights and best practices on how to build with AI which Marc shared, we were consistently reminded of how important the people are, and how alignment with the mission of the collective ultimately drives excellence.
To Thomas Jeng and the team at OpenAI, we are thankful for the opportunity to make this event happen, especially in the same week as the launch of their office in Sydney.
We are also grateful to Pete Rowe and the team at Airwallex for making the event possible in their beautiful event space in Chippendale.
As our final event of 2025, we want to share a special thanks to all who have engaged with the NextGen Ventures community this year – your energy, curiosity, and ambition has made 2025 genuinely remarkable. 2026 is going to be even bigger, so stay tuned 💥
