Skip Bali. Trek Sumatra instead.

Bukit Lawang is a small village in North Sumatra where daily jungle treks depart into Gunung Leuser National Park. Book a multi-day trek, not a one-day trip. You'll hike deeper into the rainforest, see orangutans and if you're lucky, elephants and tigers. You camp on the Bahorok River, and then tube white-water rapids back to base camp in 20 minutes.

Here's what you need to know: bring cash from Medan because there are no ATMs in the village. Dress conservatively because it's a Muslim island. Respect the jungle.

The complete trekking guide is in the link below πŸ‘‡

Consider this your sign to keep going when the trail gets steep ⛰️

Because if a trail has a viewpoint called Adlerblick ("Eagle View"), don't skip it πŸ‘€

Quick essentials for the Tyrolean Alps:

Pack 2+ liters of water, a light rain shell, and trekking poles. Mountain weather changes fast, and steep downhills are tough on your knees πŸŽ’

Start early and set a firm turnaround time. You don't want to be navigating in the dark 🌲

And clear your photo storage before you head up, you'll need every gigabyte!

Taiwan is famous for its city life, bubble tea, and the chips powering much of the modern world.

What gets overlooked? The hiking. πŸ₯Ύβ›°οΈπŸŒŠ

These pics are a reminder that it's also a serious hiking destination. From the ridgelines of Hehuanshan to the hillside streets of Jiufen and the temples of Taipei, there's plenty to explore beyond the night markets.

Norway. No filter needed.

πŸ“· by on Instagram: "Lofoten, Norway is one of my favourite places for hiking. Every trail leads to another view that somehow feels even more unreal than the last. The beauty of Lofoten is hard to beat and I promise you that you won't regret going there.

This is the hike to Mannen, overlooking Haukland Beach. A climb that's absolutely worth every step. πŸ”οΈπŸ‡³πŸ‡΄ can't wait to go back and explore more πŸ₯Ύ"
