Remote access scammers often impersonate tech support representatives and pressure you into downloading software or granting access to your computer or phone. Once they're in, your personal and financial information are at risk.

🔒 Remember: Legitimate companies won't contact you out of the blue asking for access to your device. If in doubt, hang up and contact us directly through official channels.

✅ Verify before you trust.
✅ Never share access with unsolicited callers.

This Scam Awareness Week on Aug 24-28, stay scam aware and protect yourself from impersonation scams.

The tricky thing about impersonation scams is that they don’t always look like scams.

A message, an email or even a phone call can seem to be from a genuine source.

Scammers deliberately create urgency or use information they already know about you to try and convince you to share your personal and financial information.

That’s why one of the best defences is to slow down before you act:
🛑 STOP — don’t let urgency push you into a decision.
🔎 CHECK — verify who you're dealing with using contact details you find yourself.
🛡️ PROTECT — never share your passwords, PINs or security codes, or transfer money simply because someone tells you to.

While renovation works are underway, our team will continue to be available to assist you from our temporary branch location, conveniently situated just around the corner at:

8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (AEST/AEDT).

We look forward to welcoming you back to our newly renovated branch, currently expected to reopen in late October. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we make these improvements.

🚫Send a QR code, email attachment, or a link to login into their services
🚫Ask you to pay a tax debt with gift cards or transfer money to a non-ATO bank account

✨ Even more exciting is that this support will help bring the sector together for the first ever Australian Libraries of Things Summit, held in Sydney on 1–2 August. ✨

These community sharing libraries enable members to borrow hundreds of practical items such as tools, kitchen items and gardening equipment at a very low cost —reducing waste to landfill and cutting carbon emissions.
