Division 296 tax is coming.

From 1 July 2026, an additional 15% tax applies to super earnings above a $3 million total balance.

For balances above $10 million, that rate is 25%.

The 2026/27 financial year is a transitional period, so there's time to review your position.

If your balance is getting close to that threshold, a conversation with your adviser now could save you a lot later.

30 June is coming up fast, and there's real money at stake if you don't act in time for EOFY.

Whether it's topping up your super contributions, using carry-forward cap amounts, or making sure your pension minimums are met, the time to move is now.

The key thing most people miss: your super fund needs to receive the money before the deadline, and processing can take days. Don't leave it to the last minute.

Did you know that changes to your assets or income can increase aged care fees, sometimes unexpectedly?

For concessional residents, fees aren't static. A number of common life events can trigger a reassessment of what you contribute toward care costs.

Understanding these triggers before they happen is one of the most valuable things families can do when navigating aged care.

Financial Adviser Greg O'Reilly wrote a full breakdown of the hidden challenges for concessional aged care residents.

Many families are surprised to learn that $0 in aged care costs today is no guarantee of the same tomorrow.

For Government Supported residents, accommodation contributions are reassessed as financial circumstances change. And it's not just the DAC that can increase.

The Hotelling Contribution, Non-Clinical Care Contribution, and Means-Tested Care Fee are all subject to ongoing review, linked to both the resident's and their spouse's assets and income.

Is your portfolio still working for you?

Danny Wong, Manager of Research at Alteris, walks through why portfolio rebalancing is one of the most important parts of long-term investing.

Key takeaways from Danny:
✔️ Rebalancing keeps your portfolio aligned with your risk tolerance and objectives
✔️ It prevents unintended drift into higher-risk territory
✔️ It allows you to lock in gains before market events erode them

Following a regular, structured rebalancing schedule removes emotion from the equation. Plus statistical evidence suggests it leads to stronger long-term outcomes.

With EOFY approaching, now is a great time to revisit your portfolio.
