1. Get finance pre-approved — walk in with power.
2. Don't fall in love with one truck — there's always another.
3. Factor in rego, insurance, servicing, fuel — not just the repayments.
4. Ask about balloon payments — make sure you understand the end of term.
5. Talk to a broker, not just your bank — options matter.

Would've saved myself a lot of stress. Hopefully saves you some too.

Client called Monday. Prime mover on the line, needed finance fast or he'd lose the deal.

Approved Tuesday. Settled Wednesday. Picked up the truck Thursday morning.

That's not magic - it's just being organised and knowing which lenders move quick.

If you've got a deal that needs to happen fast, don't assume finance will slow you down. Sometimes we can move faster than the dealer.

Tradies come to me after they've already agreed on a price with the dealer.

Problem is, they didn't check their finance first. So now they're locked into a deal, and their only option is the dealer's finance - which is usually the most expensive.

Get your finance sorted BEFORE you negotiate. Gives you leverage and options.

Quick tip: a 1% difference on a $150k loan is about $3k over the term. That's a holiday.

15 years ago I had just finished my Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship in the coal fields of Western NSW. Now I help blokes buy the same gear I used to fix. Trucks Rolled in & out of site, plus our own equipment (although slightly different to your regular Prime Mover)...

Most finance brokers have never touched a truck, equipment or vehicle. I've rebuilt them. I've welded and repaired trailers on my dads old Kenworth & re-treaded the tyres by hand.

That's the difference. When you tell me you need a prime mover, I don't just see a loan amount, I see the thing that's going to make your business run.
