The news yesterday that the 4 major banks are to refund customers for "bad insurance" policies is a good reminder to review your insurance policies.

Some of the banks would sell customers a life insurance and income protection policies alongside a mortgage, giving the impression there was no option. Quite often, the amounts were only as big as the mortgage or mortgage repayments so the bank knew they would be covered in an insurance event.
