To round out the month, I enjoyed an engaging conversation with Karthik Thanumoni and Tim Mitchell about how technology and automation are reshaping the way small businesses operate. From capturing leads and converting enquiries into customers, to improving efficiencies and scaling without significantly increasing overheads, it's clear that embracing the right technology is becoming essential for business growth.

As a BAS Agent and bookkeeper, staying informed about changes in legislation, technology and the broader economic landscape helps me provide better advice and support to my clients.

Recently I attended "A Better Plan for Small Business" with fellow members of the Hornsby Chamber of Commerce, with guest speaker Julian Leeser MP where we discussed many of the issues local businesses are navigating every day—including proposed tax changes, increasing operating costs, and the upcoming Anti-Money Laundering (AML) reforms that will impact many professional service businesses.

A Busy July Supporting Small Business

July has been a fantastic month of learning, networking and advocating for the small business community.

I had the opportunity to attend the Small Business & Tax Forum hosted by Julian Leeser MP, featuring insights from Angus Taylor MP, Senator Jane Hume, and economist Warren Hogan. The discussion highlighted the economic challenges facing Australian businesses, tax reform, productivity, and the importance of creating an environment where small businesses can thrive.
