At Distinctive Finance, we believe strong communities are built through meaningful support, especially for families doing it tough.

That’s why we’re proud to partner with , an incredible organisation providing free air and ground transport for seriously ill children across regional and rural NSW, QLD and the ACT.

Through this partnership, we sponsor 10 missions every year, helping support up to 250 children and their families in accessing vital medical care that would otherwise be out of reach.

The impact of Little Wings is hard to overstate:
• 2,371 journeys completed in one year
• More than 8,000 families supported
• 5.8 million kilometres travelled safely
• 90% volunteer-led, powered by dedicated pilots and drivers

For many families, accessing specialist care can mean travelling hundreds of kilometres. Little Wings helps ease the emotional, financial and physical burden by keeping families connected to the treatment their children need.

We’re incredibly proud to support an organisation delivering life-changing outcomes with compassion, consistency and care.

Thank you to the entire Little Wings team, volunteers, pilots and drivers for the work you do every single day.

The RBA has delivered a third consecutive 25 basis point increase, underscoring that policy remains firmly in a sustained tightening phase amid persistent inflation and an uncertain economic outlook.

All four major banks (Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, NAB and Westpac) are set to pass on the increase on May 15th.

By now, most borrowers are feeling the cumulative impact. What we’re seeing is not panic, but a desire for clarity. Not “what just changed?”, but “am I set up properly for what’s next?”

That’s where a review becomes valuable.

At Distinctive Finance, we work with clients to ensure their lending is structured to absorb ongoing changes, not simply react to them. In many cases, small, strategic adjustments can deliver a meaningful difference over time.

If you’d like to sense-check your current setup or understand your options, feel free to reach out.

As interest rates continue to shift, having the right lending strategy in place can make a significant difference.

After the recent RBA rate rise, a senior fund manager was referred to Leighton Packer at Distinctive Finance with growing concerns about the impact rising rates were having on their lending portfolio and cash flow.

Through a detailed review of multiple lending facilities across major banks, Leighton identified opportunities to consolidate and restructure the client’s debt. By leveraging Distinctive Finance’s lender network and private banking relationships, improved pricing and a more effective lending structure were negotiated.

Despite the rate increase, the revised structure effectively neutralised the impact on repayments, improving the client’s cash flow position and creating a more flexible lending strategy for future rate movements.

The Distinctive Finance team recently attended an Emajin Golf & Networking event at the prestigious Elanora Country Club.

With over 110 business leaders in attendance, it was an excellent opportunity to connect and strengthen key industry relationships.

A highlight of the day was the fireside chat with Peter Mattick, who shared valuable insights on the importance of truly listening to your customers, a principle that strongly resonates with our approach to debt advisory.

At Distinctive Finance, we believe effective lending starts with understanding our client’s long-term objectives, not just short-term market movements. Conversations like these reinforce the importance of strategic thinking and trusted partnerships in today’s lending environment.

A big thank you to the organisers and sponsors for delivering an outstanding event.

If you’re waiting for the RBA to cut rates, you might be waiting longer than expected.

The good news is that you don’t need an RBA move to unlock better outcomes. A strategic review and restructure of your lending can often deliver immediate and material cost savings.

Here’s what we are seeing in the market right now:

• Headline rates aren’t falling, but lenders are quietly sharpening pricing for the right clients and scenarios.

• Fixed rates are back on the radar for borrowers seeking stability and protection against potential future RBA increases.

• Split loan structures, part fixed and part variable, are helping clients balance certainty and flexibility by combining fixed-rate stability with variable-rate opportunity.

• Many borrowers continue to pay a loyalty tax simply because they haven’t reviewed their loan terms.

• Savvy borrowers are taking control, while the RBA remains cautious

Sometimes the best rate cut is the one you negotiate, not the one you wait for.

At Distinctive Finance, we proactively review our clients’ lending year-round, regardless of RBA decisions. If you’re ready to explore how a strategic review could save you money, let’s connect and unlock your options.
