⚠️ Remote Access Scams – What You Need to Know
Remote access scams are on the rise, and even smart, careful people are being targeted. Here’s what you need to watch out for.
🔍 What is a Remote Access Scam?
A scammer tries to convince you to let them access your phone or computer. Once in, they can see your banking, steal info, or take control of your device.
🎭 Common Tricks
Scammers often pretend to be from:
• Your bank
• Telstra/NBN
• Microsoft/Apple
• The ATO
They’ll say things like:
• “Your internet has been compromised.”
• “There’s suspicious activity on your account.”
• “We accidentally deposited money into your bank.”
• “You must act now.”
🚨 Red Flags
• Unexpected calls
• Asking you to download AnyDesk, TeamViewer, QuickSupport, etc.
• Urgent pressure
• Asking you to log into your bank while on the phone
