Don’t forget if you paid your super early that you will still need to pay super for any pay run that was completed after the previously paid date but before July 1st by the 28th of July.

Do you need a hand with your Taxable Payments Annual Report, in easier terms TPAR.

If you are in the below industries, you need to lodge one by the 28th of August 2023.

- building and constructions services
- cleaning services
- courier or road freight services
- information technology (IT) services
- security, investigation or surveillance services.

This is required to report payments made to contractors during the previous financial year.

Superannuation and EOFY

Whether you pay your super weekly, monthly or quarterly, be sure to process all outstanding amounts by the 23rd of June to ensure it is received and allocated to your employees account by June 30, if you are looking at claiming these amounts for EOFY.

The official due date for period 1st April - 30th June is the 28th July. See how your finances are looking and whether paying this early would be beneficial to your business.

Do you have employees?

Did you know the End-of-year payroll finalisation needs to be completed by July 14th through STP.

This deadline is the date by which all necessary payroll information must be submitted to the ATO in order for employees to be able to process their income tax returns.

Rest assured that bookkeepers are working hard to meet deadlines at one of the busiest periods.

Note that group certificates are no longer provided. Your employees will need to log into their mygov accounts after July 14th and select the ATO, it will show ‘Tax ready’ when your income tax can be completed as all information has been provided and confirmed.

A little about myself, I am a sole trader, who lives on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. Born and bred.

My partner and I have a nearly 7 month old daughter (Macey), a border collie (Bowie) and a cat (Bailey).

I worked in the admin side of construction for nearing 10 years throughout my late teens/ twenties. I decided I needed a change and was always interested in bookkeeping.

I completed my certificate, and have been working in the finance industry since. I am now a qualified BAS agent.

I have helped clients with businesses like, wedding and events planning, food stalls, restaurants, retail, termite protection, flooring, electrical, bathroom renovation, NDIS, building development, offshore sales, and much more.

I have extensive knowledge in Xero, Myob and Quickbooks.
