🏡 OFFSET VS REDRAW
They can both help reduce the interest you pay on your home loan, but an offset account and a redraw facility work differently.
💰 OFFSET ACCOUNT
An offset is a separate transaction account linked to your home loan. The money you keep in it reduces the loan balance used to calculate your interest, while generally remaining accessible for everyday transactions.
🔄 REDRAW FACILITY
Redraw allows you to access extra repayments you’ve already made directly onto your home loan. How much you can access, when you can access it and whether fees apply will depend on your lender and loan.
So, which one is better?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on how you manage your money, the features of your loan, fees and how easily you want to access your funds.
