💔 Farewell to Our Beloved Pasquale Palmieri 💔

💔 In Loving Memory of Pasquale Palmieri 💔

It’s with deep sadness and love that we share the passing of our dear friend, creative soul, and theatre cohort, Baron Pasquale Riccardo Roberto Maria Palmieri - or simply, Pasquale, as we were lucky to know him.

Pasquale was many things: a renegade architect, a gifted photographer, a passionate thinker, a playwright and above all, a true gentleman of the arts.

From his early career photographing still-life and architectural forms on large format film cameras, to his later decades spent capturing the soul of the built environment, Pasquale’s work spoke volumes. He saw architecture not just as form, but as feeling - and he gifted that perspective to countless clients across Australia and around the world.

But it was what Pasquale gave behind the scenes that touched so many of us even more deeply.

When the Alex Theatre needed it most, Pasquale stepped forward - not for recognition, but because he believed in the power of art and people. He helped found our charity, Alex REaD Theatre Performances Inc. (A.R.T Performances), to support independent creators and our shared work. He poured time, heart, and vision into building programs to help playwrights get their work heard - always lifting others before himself.

You’d often find him volunteering as an usher at the theatre - no fanfare, no titles, just a kind man guiding guests through the doors and into the inner sanctum of story telling. Few ever knew that the quiet usher was also the man who helped give strength to the very structure around them. That was Pasquale - humble, gracious, and unwavering in his love for the arts... and the odd Choc Top ice-cream.

He stood firm in his beliefs, even when it meant walking a harder path. He loved his family fiercely. And his heart? It was child-like in the best way - curious, full of wonder, always dreaming, always roaming.

Pasquale gave us beauty, vision, generosity, and presence. He will be profoundly missed - but the legacy he leaves in architecture, in photography, in theatre, and in friendship will echo for years to come.

Rest well, Pasquale. You lived as only you could - creatively, courageously, and with heart wide open.
