How does your business make giving back more meaningful and impactful?

Today is the UN International Day of Charity, which has us reflecting on this question.

For us, partnering with charity .org for a longer term aligns with our mission to enable us to have more impact. For example, this year, our Special Projects officer is working with Cool.org to produce educational resources to teach children about renewable energy.

In addition, each Smart Ease team member volunteers two days per year in their local community to support projects that contribute to better social or environmental outcomes. Team members nominate the projects in their communities that align with these criteria, so they're working on something meaningful to them.

We love a good stat, and we came across plenty while prepping our new solar insights report last month. Here are three which stood out – if you're a stat nerd like us, share your favourite below! 🤓

1️⃣ As of June 2023, there are over 3.52 million PV installations in Australia, with a combined capacity of over 32.1 gigawatts. This is close to 1 in 3 residential rooftops in Australia, the highest % in the 🌏.

2️⃣ The Tesla Model Y leapfrogged the Ford ranger ute to become the second best–selling car of any type in Australia in June 2023.

3️⃣ 15% of all new solar systems installed in Australia last year include a battery energy storage solution. This represents YOY growth of over 55%!

What seemed a horrifying prospect for most of us turned out to be the most wonderfully silly, exhilarating and mindful hour we've shared in ages. Highlights included.

🤾 Learning how to listen and 'catch' what your conversation partner is throwing you, instead of thinking ahead to your response.
