🍀Attention to homebuyers with HELP debt!!! 🍀

In addition to the good news of the rate cut on Tuesday 18 February 2025 from Reserve Bank of Australia, another great news is that APRA has released a letter clarifying the changes expected to take effect from 30 September 2025:

🍀Removal of HELP debt from Debt-To-Income ratio (DTI) reporting so that HELP repayments are not treated as debt for reporting purposes.

🍀Treatment of HELP in serviceability assessments: Lenders would consider exceptions to exclude from borrowing capacity calculation for HELP debts that are expected to be fully repaid within 12 months.

Temporary off-the-plan duty concession

On 21 October 2024, the Victorian Government announced a new temporary off-the-plan land transfer (stamp) duty concession.

The new concession will be available for off-the-plan purchases of dwellings (including apartments and townhouses) within strata subdivisions where the contract is entered into from 21 October 2024, for 12 months.
