Did you know that effective 1 July, the Federal Government has expanded the eligibility criteria for the Home Guarantee Scheme, which encompasses the First Home Guarantee, Regional First Home Guarantee and Family Home Guarantee?

The changes to the Scheme mean friends, siblings and other family members can jointly apply for both the First Home Guarantee and Regional First Home Guarantee. However, the limit of two applicants still applies. These two Schemes have also been extended to non-first home buyers who have not owned a property in Australia in the past 10 years.

All three schemes within the Home Guarantee will also now be available to permanent residents as well as Australian citizens.
