Big changes are coming to the NDIS from 1 July 2026 — and if your business is currently delivering NDIS supports without registration, the window to act is closing fast.

From mandatory registration for SIL and platform providers, to budget adjustments, new planning frameworks and tighter compliance requirements across the board — the NDIS is being reshaped around registered, compliant providers.

The providers who will come out the other side of these reforms strongest are the ones who are prepared. That means getting registered, getting your documentation in order and not waiting until June to start.

We've just published a detailed breakdown of every change happening from July 2026 and what it means for your business — read it now via the link below.

If you are thinking about becoming an NDIS support coordinator in 2026 — there is something really important you need to know before you start.

Most people researching this role have no idea there are three completely different levels of support coordination — and each one has different qualification requirements, different registration groups and a very different scope of work.

Level 1 — Support Connection. Helping participants understand their plan and connect with services.
Level 2 — Coordination of Supports. More complex. More active. Working with participants who have multiple needs and significant barriers.
Level 3 — Specialist Support Coordination. The highest level. For participants in genuinely complex, high risk situations — justice system, mental health facilities, housing crisis. This level requires allied health qualifications and is a completely different role to Levels 1 and 2.

And here is the part most people do not know yet — the Commonwealth Government has announced that all support coordinators across all three levels will soon be required to register with the NDIS Commission. If you are currently working as an unregistered support coordinator, your window to continue without registration is closing.

We have written the complete 2026 guide covering all three levels — qualifications, registration pathways, the upcoming regulatory change and everything you need to know before making your next move.

If you have been researching how to become a registered NDIS provider and reading guides written a few years ago — there is something important you need to know before you start your application.

The NDIS audit standard has changed significantly since the early days of the scheme. What was sufficient to pass an audit in 2020 is not sufficient in 2026.
Auditors are no longer satisfied with documentation that exists on paper.

In 2026 they want evidence that your compliance systems are genuinely operational — a live risk register with real risks, a complaints register that has actually been used, incident investigations that show what changed as a result, and governance structures that your key personnel can actually speak to.

Providers who enter the process with outdated expectations are the ones who end up with corrective action requests, extended timelines and costs they did not plan for.

We have written the complete 2026 guide to NDIS registration — covering exactly what has changed, what auditors are looking for this year, what documentation you need for both Verification and Certification, and how to give yourself the best possible chance of passing first time.

Are you a disability support provider whose workers implement behaviour support plans for NDIS participants?

If any of your participants have an active behaviour support plan — especially one that includes regulated restrictive practices — you need to be registered for Module 2A — Implementing Behaviour Support Plans.

And this is where a lot of providers get caught out.

They confuse Module 2A with Module 2. They underestimate the qualification requirements. They do not realise how specific the restrictive practices documentation needs to be until their auditor sends back a corrective action request — and suddenly their registration timeline blows out by months.

Module 2A is not just for behaviour support practitioners. It is for any disability support organisation whose workers implement existing behaviour support plans as part of their day-to-day support delivery. If that is your business — this registration group applies to you.

We have written the complete guide to Module 2A registration covering everything you need to know — what it involves, who needs it, qualification requirements, the difference between Module 2 and Module 2A, restrictive practices compliance state by state, what the audit looks like and exactly what documentation you need to pass first time.

Are you a licensed electrician thinking about becoming a registered NDIS provider?

Most electricians have no idea that their skills are in high demand under the NDIS — or that registration opens the door to a whole new revenue stream through NDIS-funded home modifications.

Sensor lighting, automated door systems, smart home installations, GPO relocations, stairlifts, emergency call systems — this is the kind of work NDIS participants need and the NDIS funds. And as a registered provider you can deliver all of it to NDIA-managed participants, not just self-managed and plan-managed.

The best part? Electricians register under the Verification pathway — the simpler, faster and less expensive audit pathway compared to higher risk registration groups. No on-site audit. Just a desktop document review.

We have written the complete guide to NDIS registration for electricians — covering your licensing requirements state by state, exactly what the Verification audit involves, what AS 1428 knowledge you need to demonstrate and what documents you need to get your registration right first time.

Are you an Aboriginal Health Worker thinking about becoming a registered NDIS provider?

Registration is absolutely achievable — and it opens the door to the full NDIS participant market, including NDIA-managed participants who make up the largest segment of the scheme.

But finding clear, accurate information about what you actually need — the right qualifications, the right registration groups, what the audit looks like and how the process differs depending on whether you are in the Northern Territory, Victoria or anywhere else in Australia — is genuinely difficult.

We have written the complete guide specifically for Aboriginal Health Workers covering everything you need to know from start to finish — including state by state breakdowns for the NT, VIC, NSW, QLD, WA and SA.

Did you know Module 1 (High Intensity Daily Personal Activities) is one of the toughest parts of an NDIS audit — and the number one area where new providers get caught out? 😬

Why? Because high-intensity supports aren’t just “extra paperwork”… they’re clinical, high-risk tasks that auditors examine under a microscope.

And here’s the part most people don’t realise 👇
Your regular NDIS policies won’t pass a high-intensity audit. Auditors expect detailed, step-by-step clinical procedures for things like diabetes management, catheter care, bowel care, seizures, mealtime management, tracheostomies, ventilation and more. If you don’t have specialised documents for each area, it’s impossible to meet the standard — even if you’re doing everything right in practice.

Ready to make sure your Module 1 documents actually pass audit? Explore our Module 1 High Intensity Daily Personal Activities Pack — link in bio.

Did you know most new NDIS providers don’t even realise that Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) has its own Practice Standard (Module 5) — which means your usual core module policies aren’t enough to pass an SDA audit 😬

That’s exactly why we created our Module 5 SDA Pack — so you have the exact policies, procedures and evidence templates auditors expect.

Peek inside our industry-leading Module 5 pack on our website today and get started with your SDA business today - Link in bio!

Most people don’t fail the NDIS process because they’re bad at what they do... They get stuck because of documentation 😅

Here’s where we see it go wrong over and over:
❌ Policies and forms that don’t actually line up with the current NDIS Practice Standards
❌ Generic templates copied from Google
❌ No real evidence forms to show “we do what we say we do”
❌ Risk, complaints and incident processes that are way too vague
❌ No clear responsibilities assigned (who does what, when, and how)
❌ Missing continuous improvement practices or quality feedback loops

Good documentation isn’t just “paperwork” the auditor wants to tick off.
It’s the framework that shows you can deliver safe, high-quality supports to participants.

That’s exactly what we help with at Provider One – Done-For-You and Do-It-Yourself documentation packs that are built specifically for NDIS audits.

👉 DM us CHECKLIST and we'll send the real checklist of documentation auditors request at the start of a stage 1 audit.
