The RBA has today increased rates by 0.25% bringing the official cash rate to 3.85%

🏠 The RBA has just cut the cash rate by 0.25%, bringing it down to 3.85% as of May 2025.

For homeowners, this could mean lower monthly repayments if your lender passes on the cut. For buyers, it may slightly boost borrowing power and improve affordability.

Lenders are making moves ahead of the RBA's next meeting, being held on Tuesday, 18th February, and we have insight into what is happening.

Lenders are reducing their rates; Macquarie Bank has just slashed its 1-3 year fixed-rate mortgages by up to 0.16%, bringing its lowest rate to 5.55% (6.05% comparison rate) for owner-occupiers, making the rates quite competitive.

There is noise that the RBA is expected to cut the cash rate this month, so lenders are starting to adjust their rates to stay ahead of the game.

Macquarie's out-of-cycle cut could spark more competition among banks, which is great news for you.

He shared that every single story of success and triumph has adversity in it’.

He was just nine years old when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. Heart wrenching !

“I was told I would have to start chemotherapy and have my left leg amputated,”

“I got terrible news when I was 11 that they’d found cancer in my lung.

“I turned to my doctor and said what are my chances of surviving and he said ‘50/50’.”

Knowles is now a five-time Paralympian and World Champion in wheelchair basketball, feats the Australian Rollers captain for Paris 2024 attributes to the power of positive thinking.

“My parents and my doctor confessed when I was placed in remission the second time that my chances of surviving were only about 10 percent,” he said.
