Today I had the pleasure of catching up with Stephanie from Stephanie Fitzpatrick | Online Business Manager + VA over a great coffee at Verdure. ☕️

Helping clients secure a home loan is one thing... helping them feel supported throughout the journey is something I never take for granted.

Buying a home can feel overwhelming. There are lenders, contracts, conveyancers, deadlines and a lot of moving parts.

My role isn't just to arrange the finance—it's to guide my clients through the process, keep everyone connected and make what can feel complicated... feel manageable.

Still pinching myself...

I'm incredibly honoured to have been named a National Finalist in the 2026 AusMumpreneur Awards in the Financial Services category.

When I saw my name on the finalist list, I honestly had to read it twice.

These awards celebrate women in business who are making a meaningful impact through leadership, innovation and customer service, so to be recognised amongst so many incredible women is something I'll never take for granted.

The last 24 months have been some of the biggest of my career.

There have been challenges, exciting new beginnings and plenty of moments where I questioned myself.

To now be recognised on a national stage is something I'm incredibly proud of.

But if I'm honest...

This one is for the mums.

The mums who wonder if they can build a successful career while raising little humans.

The mums juggling school drop-offs, sick days, dinner, homework and running a business in between.

This isn't just the launch of a new business.

It's the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

After more than 10 years as a mortgage broker, there came a point where I found myself asking a simple question...

What would it look like if I created a mortgage brokerage that truly reflected the way I believe clients should experience the home loan journey?

A place where relationships come before transactions.

Where communication is proactive.

Where clients feel educated, supported and genuinely cared for.

Where settlement isn't the end of the relationship—it's just the beginning.

Before long, that simple question became a name...

Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of helping hundreds of individuals and families through some of life's biggest milestones.

I've celebrated first home buyers collecting their keys.

I've helped families build their dream homes.

I've helped clients refinance to improve their financial position.

I've supported women navigating separation as they rebuilt their lives and purchased a home in their own name.

And somewhere along the way, I realised something.

Inflation data was released today... but what does that actually mean?

If you've seen the headlines and thought, “Okay... but what does this mean for me?" you're not alone.

Here's the simple version.

Inflation is a measure of how quickly the cost of everyday things is increasing, like groceries, fuel, rent and electricity.

Today's figures showed that inflation has eased slightly compared to last month, which is welcome news. Fuel prices helped bring inflation down, although many households are still feeling pressure from housing and everyday living costs.

So, why does everyone pay attention to inflation?

Because it's one of the key things the Reserve Bank looks at when deciding whether to increase, decrease or keep the official cash rate the same.

Lower inflation can ease pressure on future interest rate decisions, but it doesn't automatically mean rates will change at the next meeting. The RBA will also consider employment, economic growth and other factors before making its decision.

What does this mean if you have a home loan or you're looking to buy?

For now, it's another positive sign that inflation is moving in the right direction.

If you're thinking about buying, refinancing or reviewing your home loan, it's worth understanding how changes in the economy may affect your options.

The headlines can be confusing—but they don't have to be.

One of the biggest myths I come across is:
"My bank said no, so I guess I can't buy."

The reality is that every lender has its own credit policy.

Depending on your circumstances, things like:
💰 Casual income
💰 Overtime
💰 Bonuses
💰 Self-employed income
💰 Commission
💰 Novated leases..can all be assessed differently.

That's why I encourage people not to rule themselves out after one conversation.

Sometimes it's not about changing your circumstances.

It's about finding the lender whose policy is the best fit for your situation.
